Accident Investigation

A study of current incident/accident investigation techniques and “root cause” analysis. Topics include forms, questioning witnesses, and report writing. It covers personal injury and motor vehicle accidents.

Asbestos Awareness

Information on the recognition and control of asbestos is discussed. Topics also include health effects associated with exposure and the importance of wearing proper protective gear.

Back Injury Prevention/ Lifting

Instruction is provided on how to perform a proper lift, injury prevention methods, and techniques to prevent injuries.

Bloodborne Pathogens

Any employee who may be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials is required to have training. Participants will receive information about work site hazards, terminology, proper labeling, handling and disposal procedures, and the exposure control plan.

Chemical Safety

This course provides required awareness training in occupational hazards common to the handling chemicals, methods used for evaluating and minimizing chemical exposure, measures that protect against chemical hazards, safe practices for chemical storage and waste disposal, and the correct response to emergency situations involving chemical spills.

Compressed Gases

The goal of this course is to make all employees aware of the safety requirements when working with or around Compressed Gas.

Conducting Effective Workplace Safety Inspections

This course explains the importance of conducting in-house work place/ jobsite safety and health inspections and audits. A variety of techniques and procedures will emphasize the importance of employer’s safety committee members, safety directors and other responsible persons involved in exposing hazardous conditions during safety and health audits. Class discussion of proper hazard abatement methods will be conducted following a class safety and health inspection of a worksite.

Confined Space Entry Awareness

This course provides attendees with basic training on safety and health issues relative to confined spaces. The training addresses recognition and control of confined space hazards, entry permits, and related emergencies.

Confined Space Entry- Permit Required

The course covers the hazards posed by Permit-Required Confined Spaces to employees during entry. It also covers the responsibilities of the Space Entrant, Attendant, or Entry Supervisor before, during, and after the space entry.

Driver Safety

The goal of this course is to enable drivers to recognize and identify hazardous driving conditions and to minimize their risk of accidents.

Drug and Alcohol CDL Supervisor training

This class is designed to train managers and supervisors on how to recognize employees when they are observed unfit for duty because of the effects of drugs or alcohol. Supervisors and Managers will be made aware of the various CDL regulatory requirements to ensure a drug free work environment. They will also become familiar with the procedures for testing and referring CDL employees who test positive for the presence of drugs or alcohol in their body.

Drug Testing and Substance Abuse

This training provides information about the state’s drug testing laws and policies, test substances, general statistical data, recognition techniques and some guidelines for successful intervention.

Electrical Safety

This information will assist in developing or improving the electrical maintenance program at your agency. Topics covered include recognition, evaluation and control of hazards, deenergizing equipment, and personal protective equipment.

Emergency Response

Each employee will recognize their employer’s responsibilities for communicating the emergency action plan, list their responsibilities in the action plan, identify requirements for alarm systems, recognize the elements of the fire prevention plan, and state responsibilities for responding to weather-related disasters, natural disasters, bomb threats, fire, workplace violence, and hazardous material incidents

Ergonomics in the Workplace

Ergonomics is the science of adapting the work to the worker. This class will help you identify potential hazards by worksite analysis and understand how to correct them through control measures, employee training, and workplace monitoring.

Effective Workplace Safety Management Systems

This course is designed to help employers understand federal and state requirements for safety and health programs. The course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to develop, implement, and maintain an effective Safety and Health Management System. Emphasis will be placed on a proactive approach to safety and health management. Course curriculum includes, Job Hazard Analysis, Developing Safety and Health Programs, Developing an Annual Safety Action Plan, and discussion about the Benefits of an Effective Safety and Health Management System.

Excavation, Trenching and Shoring Safety

Each employee will recognize key terms associated with excavation work, identify correct principles and practices used in designing excavations, recognize proper principles and practices associated with constructing an excavation, and identify the dangers and safe practices that must be followed when working in or near excavations.

Fall Protection

The goal of this lesson is to make all employees aware of the requirements for use of Fall Protection, Work Positioning, Fall Restraint, and Fall Arrest systems.

Fire Prevention and Control

This course will familiarize participants with state fire protection laws, rules, fire codes, features of fire protection, and licensing requirements. Participants will gain a better understanding of fire protection and their workplace fire safety responsibilities.

First Aid/ CPR

Each employee will learn how to initially respond to an accident or injury situation, become aware of first aid guidelines and “good practices, ” and be able to properly treat injuries and respond to emergencies. This practical hands-on CPR course will instruct how to respond confidently to a respiratory, cardiac, or choking emergency until professional medical help arrives. This course is based on the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association guidelines.

Forklift Operator Certification Training

The training will demonstrate awareness of safe forklift operation principles by identifying basic key features on the lift, recognizing the technical components of forklift operation, listing safe load handling and driving practices, stating general safety rules, and inspecting and maintaining lift equipment.
This program consists of six separate modules:

Hand Tool Training

This class covers different types of tools and how to select and inspect each. It discusses the basic skills in hazard recognition and control, plus the use, storage, and maintenance requirements.

Hazard Communication

This class is designed to educate employees on the importance and benefits of properly recognizing and safely working with hazardous materials. Topics include the hazards of chemicals, warning labels, MSDS, exposure situations, and hazard prevention and protection.

Hazardous Materials Safety

This class teaches basic safety precautions relative to the handling of hazardous materials in the workplace.

Hazardous Materials Spill Response / Hazardous Waste Management

This course instructs the participant on the proper methodologies for cleaning up small spills of hazardous materials. Included is hazard assessment, PPE selection, clean up materials, and proper packaging and containerization of clean up materials. This course additionally instructs participants on the proper management of hazardous waste. This includes identification, containerization, labeling, storage and disposal of hazardous waste.

Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Refresher

This course provides the basic information needed to meet the annual refresher requirements in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) for workers at hazardous waste sites who have already completed their initial 40-hour or 24-hour HAZWOPER training. Specifically, this course provides the refresher training for workers who perform hazardous waste site operations that are subject to the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(a)through(p). This course does not encompass refresher training for persons subject to 29 CFR 1910-120(q)–that is, those who engage in emergency response to hazardous substances incidents.

Hearing Conservation

The goal of this introductory course is to enable the employee to correctly apply the principles of hazard recognition, risk management, and rights and responsibilities when working in areas where noise is a hazard.

Heat and Cold Stress

The goal of this course is to reduce the financial and personnel cost of personal injuries on the job resulting in lost workdays due to heat and cold stress illnesses.

Hot Work with Arc Welding

The goal of this lesson is to provide required training in the hazards of hot work and the basic requirements for reducing the risk of injury.

Incident Investigation

This lesson covers the purpose for conducting an incident investigation, the procedures to follow, and what information should be determined during the investigation. It also covers who to interview, how to properly conduct the interview, and how to complete an investigation report and recommend corrective action following the investigation.

Indoor Air Quality

Participants will come away from this course with an explanation the consequences of contamination, and covers the causes and sources of major indoor air contaminants. It also covers health effects and major risks of contamination, and how exposure controls help maintain good indoor air quality.

Industrial Ergonomics

To minimize the possibility of employee accidents and illness due to chronic work-related physical and psychological stresses and maximize productivity and efficiency.

Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

This course teaches participants to minimize/eliminate hazards by identifying them with JSAs. Participants will learn how to break a job’s performance into its basic parts (steps), and how to identify the key points of a job.

Laboratory Safety

This course covers all of the materials in the realm of laboratory safety standards including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), relative fire safety, storage, disposal, spills and record keeping.

Ladder Safety

Learn common hazards associated with ladder work and how to follow safe practices to reduce these hazards. Also learn the fall protection requirements associated with ladder work and when and how to inspect ladders.

Lead Awareness

This lesson provides awareness training to help workers recognize the occupational hazards and health effects of lead exposure, where lead is found, and the exposure controls.

Lock-Out/Tag-Out Safety

This course covers identification and control of energy sources, as well as “control and release” to ensure safe handling of these sources.

Material Safety Data Sheets

The more you know about the materials you work with, the more you can protect yourself from their dangers. One way to understand these materials is to read their Material Safety Data Sheets. This course will review the new standardized format for MSDSs developed by the Chemical Manufacturers Association and will teach you how to work more safely with materials.

Machine Guarding

This lesson covers the mechanical hazards associated with machinery use and the safeguarding requirements for those machines. It also covers methods for machine guarding, types of machine safeguards and safe practices for working around them, including PPE use and training requirements.

Office Ergonomics

To minimize the possibility of employee accidents and illness due to chronic work-related physical and psychological stresses and maximize productivity and efficiency.

OSHA 10-Hr Construction Course

This course is for private and public sector personnel from all types of industries and is designed to present an overview of how the provisions of the OSH Act may be implemented in the workplace. Rights and responsibilities under the federal OSH Act, and record keeping are covered. The course also includes an introduction to OSHA’s construction standards and an overview of the requirements of the more frequently referenced and cited standards. OSHA course completion cards are also issued to students to certify course completions.

OSHA 30-Hr Construction Course

This is a comprehensive occupational safety and health compliance course reviewing federal regulations. Designed for managers and supervisors who are responsible for the overall safety of their employees in the workplace. This course presents detailed information on how the provisions of the OSHAct may be implemented in the workplace. Rights and responsibilities under the OSHAct, the appeals process, record keeping, and Voluntary Protection Programs are covered. The course also includes an introduction to OSHA’s construction standards and an overview of the requirements of the more frequently referenced standards. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a course completion card from Federal OSHA.

OSHA Fall Protection Requirements In Construction

Falls from elevations account for one third of all deaths in construction. Almost all sites have unprotected sides and edges, wall openings, or floor holes at some point during construction. If these sides and openings are not protected at your site, injuries from falls or falling objects may result, ranging from sprains and concussions to death. This course will provide attendees with OSHA requirements for the use of guardrail systems, fall protection systems and personal fall arrest systems and their components. Also covered will be requirements for implementing fall protection plans, OSHA safety standards for portable ladders and relevant standards in both commercial and residential construction as well as steel erection.

OSHA 10-Hr General Industry Course

OSHA Trenching And Excavation Requirements

This course will address OSHA’s trenching and excavation current standard requirements, and the roll and qualifications of the Competent Person. Topics include shoring and sloping techniques and requirements, inspections, related equipment most commonly used to provide a safe trench and/or excavation and how to prepare for OSHA inspections when excavating.

Overhead and Gantry Crane Safety

The goal of this course is that all employees operating bridge cranes will be able to identify the requirements for inspection, operational testing, proper rigging and lifting procedures, and other safety practices relevant to crane operation.

Personal Protective Equipment

The goal of this introductory course is to protect employees from work-related illness and injury. The student learns how to determine what personal protective equipment is required to perform a particular job, to inspect this equipment for defects before donning it, and how to determine when this equipment needs to be replaced.

Respiratory Protection

The most recent advances in respirator technology, updated fit testing methods, and more effective methods to use respirators are discussed. It will assist organizations in managing their respirator programs and help employees use, maintain, and store equipment properly.

Safety Audits/ Inspections

The goal of this course is to provide awareness training for managers, supervisors, and general employees on the importance of safety audits and how to plan and conduct an audit.

Safety Meetings

This course is designed to help organizations generate and maintain interest in safety meetings. It will provide suggestions for developing timely and entertaining topics, increasing attendance and getting safety meeting information to those employees unable to attend.

Scaffold Safety

Each employee working around scaffolds will recognize definitions and types of scaffolds, the potential hazards connected with their use, including electrical, structural instability, falls, and falling objects, and will demonstrate proper use of procedures required for working on or near scaffolds.

Scissor Lift

This course instructs the participants on cart pre-use inspection, safe operation of scissor lifts, required PPE and fall restraint.

Security Awareness

This course is designed to help organizations become more aware of security issues in light of the Sept. 11th incident and will focus on modifications to buildings to heighten the level of security awareness. This class is designed for those individuals who have duties pertaining to security, law enforcement, violence assessment, management, supervision and/or safety.

Slips, Trips and Falls

The goal of this introductory course is to teach employees to identify safe and correct methods for using portable ladders and scaffolds. The student learns to identify good housekeeping practices to prevent accidents, as well as safe procedures for working on elevated surfaces.

Supervisor Responsibility

This course was developed to give supervisory personnel training in the core courses they will need to comply with their responsibilities under the loss prevention program. This course covers: Accident Investigation; Accident Reporting; Safety Meetings; Safety Inspections; JSAs; Training; and other related information supervisor
